Dear Yellow Warbler,

I spoke with my therapist today.

She says that my tears stop me from taking flight.

They allow me to stand my ground and, as they wash away my tension, they allow me to fight back.
I have always felt them as a burden, a heavy weight of water drowning my feathers. But maybe flight was never the answer.

I yearn so deeply, however, for the weightlessness of no tears.
To choose flight over fight.
